Personalized Dementia Guidance for Families.

Education for Professionals.

Training & Continuing Education in Dementia Care.

The Quiet Path provides dementia guidance, education, and training designed to deepen understanding, strengthen person-centered care, preserve relationships, and change how individuals, families, professionals, and communities understand and respond to dementia.

There is often a space between receiving a dementia diagnosis and learning how to live with it.

The Quiet Path exists in that space.

Understanding the Dementia Path

Compassion begins with understanding | Understanding changes how we care

You may be noticing changes in yourself or someone you care about and wondering what they mean. Are these changes part of dementia? If there is already a diagnosis, are they signs of progression, or could something else be contributing? You may be trying to understand what you’re seeing, what to pay attention to, and what it may mean for the path ahead.

The Quiet Path helps individuals and families better understand dementia, recognize changes and what may be contributing to them, and anticipate what may lie ahead. With greater understanding, you can ask better questions, consider your options, and make thoughtful decisions that reflect the person, their circumstances, values, and life.

Local or Across The Country

The people who share a dementia journey don’t always live in the same place. Family and friends may be across town or across the country, or around world, each bringing different perspectives, questions, and concerns.

The Quiet Path can bring those voices together. Guidance and family conversations can happen virtually, making it possible for those who matter to participate regardless of where they live. For families in Central Oregon, support may also be provided in person.

What Does Dementia Guidance Look Like?

It begins with a conversation. I listen, ask questions, and take the time to hear your story, what is happening now, what has changed, what concerns you, and what brought you to The Quiet Path.

Together, we determine the next steps and the path forward. That may include a series of family conversations, education about what dementia is, and what it isn’t, understanding behaviors as symptoms and communication, and practical strategies for navigating the changes ahead. Throughout those conversations, we focus on moving forward with greater understanding and grace, while honoring the person living with dementia and caring for yourself along the way.

Some families need guidance at one particular point in time. Others benefit from support over weeks, months, or longer. There is no prescribed path. We determine the next steps together, based on what you and your family need.

Our Mission

The Quiet Path exists to change how dementia is understood and responded to giving individuals, families, professionals, and communities the knowledge, guidance, and practical tools to move forward with greater understanding and grace, while preserving dignity, personhood, and relationships along the way.

Our Guiding Philosophy

The Quiet Path embraces person-centered care seeing the person beyond the diagnosis and honoring their voice, abilities, preferences, dignity, and autonomy. Greater understanding of dementia helps us respond differently, adapt as abilities and needs change, and preserve the relationships and connections that give life meaning.

We believe people and families deserve more than a diagnosis. They deserve a path forward.
